Alcohol is only meant for use by responsible adults, but your children don’t need to be left out entirely. A mocktail is a version of a cocktail that leaves the alcohol out, so your kids can feel included in a safe way. Here is a look at some fabulous mocktails for your child’s birthday celebration.
Shirley Temple
When you think about popular cocktails, Shirley Temple may be one of the first names to come to mind. This type of drink can offer a beautiful presentation whether it contains alcohol or not. All you need to make a Shirley Temple mocktail is a quarter cup of orange juice, two tablespoons of grenadine, ¾ cup of a citrus soda, and a cherry. Remember, the grenadine should sink to the bottom of the drink.
Cucumber Punch
Although perhaps not as famous as a Shirley Temple, a cucumber punch drink can be delicious and refreshing. Add ¾ cup of water and ¾ cup of ice cubes to a punch bowl. Then, mix a pack of instant lemonade powder with a bottle of grape juice concentrate in the same bowl. Simply add cucumber and lemonade slices to the mixture and you have a tasty non-alcoholic mocktail that your kids can enjoy.
Cider Sangria
Like a Shirley Temple, sangria can be as pleasing to the eye as it is to the tongue. First pour a cup of raspberries, a cup of blueberries, and apple slices into a pitcher. Then add a can of club soda, a can of ginger ale, and apple cider, and then stir it and serve.
These mocktails can allow your children to feel mature and sophisticated at the next family gathering or birthday party.
