Celebrate the Fourth of July with These Patriotic Drinks

Having a few drinks is as much a part of the Fourth of July as cookouts and fireworks. If you’re throwing a celebration this year, you don’t have to limit yourself to the usual cooler full of beer. Hire a bartender to set the vibe for your party and celebrate the holiday in style with some decidedly patriotic drink creations. Here are some ideas for red, white, and blue libations to get you started.

The American Spirit

This drink combines red, white, and blue with fresh fruit flavors. It is light enough to sip at an outdoor gathering and even has coconut water to keep you hydrated. The ingredients required are:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Acai-flavored vodka (or any fruit-flavored vodka that you like)
  • 1 oz. Sliced strawberries
  • 3 oz. Club soda
  • 2 oz. Coconut water
  • Blueberries for garnishing

This drink is made by layering strawberries on the bottom of a tall glass. Top the strawberries with ice, and add the vodka, club soda, and coconut water. Garnish the top with blueberries.

The Yankee Doodle

This is another refreshing cocktail that makes use of coconut water. It only requires a few ingredients but packs a lot of flavor. To mix up this cocktail, you will need:

  • 1 1/2 oz. coconut-flavored vodka
  • 3 oz. coconut water
  • 3/4 oz. lime juice
  • 8 mint leaves

Start by mudding the mint with the vodka in a shaker. Add the coconut water and lime juice, along with ice, and shake well. Pour into a tall glass over ice. You can garnish the drink with a lime wheel, if desired.

Firecracker

This richly colored, sweet-toothed cocktail will bring to mind the fireworks finale. Wow your guests with this gorgeous drink with these ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 oz. blue curacao
